At present the arts entail if not everything, than surely cultural life in its entirety. This does not need to concern us artists, since for us, our art is central – yet this centrality is visibly overshadowed by the market and the media whereby we, unavoidably, are part of. There arises a particular fascination from this indirect and superficial consequence from art. Now, it isn’t the superficiality thereof , or so to say the banality thereof that intrigues us, but the multiplication thereof : the plurality of superficiality surrounding the work. FOR SHOW is a performance whereby the precipitation thereof, evidently unavoidable, will become an installation, wherein aspects as technique, presentation, public and critics are explicitly called to order : the artistic periphery is returned to art, or better still, determines the work. And with some good will the space between the shallows, is seen as dept.
